DataGov
Improving Global Governance
DataGov is a user friendly, interactive data visualization tool launched by the Inter-American Development Bank that integrates most of the publicly available governance indicators. The IDB experienced great success in turning DataGov into a useful hub for easily accessible, regularly updated, and in-depth indicators to inform more effective global governance. Based on the program's early success, the IDB was interested in expanding DataGov into a global initiative that would provide increased access to expertise and regional knowledge, outreach opportunities, and data and resources. The mission of the expansion was to provide users with country-specific, actionable indicators along with in-depth information about their appropriate uses and limitations.
In response, Bixal designed and implemented a communications plan to engage researchers, practitioners, civil society organizations, and other key audiences in a productive dialogue. This highly interactive communication platform has enhanced DataGov’s online presence and overall brand identity by expanding DataGov's visibility and use worldwide. DataGov is positioned as a useful knowledge tool not only for the development community, but for the media, policy makers and the general public.
