Chaz specializes in open-source web and database development with an emphasis in component-based design and development. He has worked on projects for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and is currently working with the U.S. Web Design System team.
Chaz is from Yuma, Ariz., and received his bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Information Technology from the University of Phoenix. He is an active and experienced member of the Drupal community and has developed numerous Drupal training videos and authored two books on Drupal 8. Before joining Bixal, Chaz was an instructor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, teaching Drupal and various web technologies as well as contributing numerous articles and presentations at open-source conferences. He was also Director of Technology, Technical Manager, and Open-Source Engineer for the Smithsonian, where he helped build websites for the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and the National Museum of Natural History. He is a Certified Scrum Master.
During his free time, Chaz enjoys being a father and husband, traveling to different places in the world, and being a deejay.
