Gurnimrat is the data scientist currently working on the U.S. Social Security Administration’s (SSA's) Online Transaction Initiative, topic modeling customer intent, clustering user behavior and developing success metrics. She also supports the deployment of an app using infrastructure as code to elevate data-driven decisions on the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD's) Housing Counselor Certification training and exam processes.
Gurnimrat has a B.S.E. in chemical and biomolecular engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.S. in biophysics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She holds certificates in Medallia operational customer experience management (level 1) and data science from the Flatiron School. Before working at Bixal, Gurnimrat consulted as a data and systems design strategist on international development projects driving local innovation and has conducted scientific research in academia and as a chemical engineer. Gurnimrat served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Liberia. In her spare time, Gurnimrat, a native of Valley Cottage, N.Y., enjoys reading, cycling and backpacking. She has competed in marathons and triathlons and has various hidden talents, including dancing, cooking and storytelling.
