Karen is currently helping the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) create innovative learning opportunities for grant management professionals.
She is originally from Silver Spring, Md., and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from West Chester University and a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing and publication design from the University of Baltimore. Prior to joining the Bixal team, she worked as an adjunct professor of English at both Towson University and the University of Baltimore, as a research assistant at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and as a technical writer for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Budget. Outside of work, she volunteers for the Makana Project, making and donating face masks to community members in need. In her free time, she enjoys sewing, reading and making resin crafts.
