
Kate Rustad
Kate is currently providing editorial feedback and assisting in the development of promotional and educational material for the Office of Justice Programs (OJP).
Originally from the Midwest, Kate received her bachelor’s degree in Spanish with a minor in language sciences from Virginia Tech. She received her master’s degree in linguistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, during which time she presented her master’s thesis at the Linguistic Society of America’s 93rd annual meeting. Prior to joining the Bixal team, she taught various levels of K-16 linguistics, English and Spanish, as well as doing translation work and artificial intelligence (AI) data linguistics. Outside of work, she has a strict motto of never saying no to trying a new food. Kate also enjoys yoga, true crime podcasts and spending time on the water.
