Mary Kay Alegre
Mary Kay is Bixal’s director of learning, providing oversight and strategic vision on projects that focus on instructional design, curriculum development, training, certification, e-learning, knowledge management, and learning ecosystem design. Mary Kay is also Bixal’s quality manager, maintaining quality management system oversight and coordination for Bixal’s annual ISO 9001 recertification. She supports business development and internal training and professional development initiatives. Currently, she works on Bixal projects with the Department of Justice (DOJ), Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and USAID.
Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Mary Kay went to Miami University, where she received her bachelor's degree in International Studies and Spanish. She went on to earn her master's in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on online learning from George Mason University. Before Bixal, Mary Kay worked as an instructional designer and online learning consultant in higher education and workforce development. She was director of an educational association and a program manager, instructor, and curriculum developer for local, state, and national adult education and English as a second language (ESL) programs. When she is not working, Mary Kay volunteers and likes spending time with her family, biking, traveling, dancing and watching musicals.
