Sandra Bunch

As director of content, Sandra works to lead and expand Bixal’s growing practice areas of content strategy and communications and marketing, while also overseeing our internal communications and marketing efforts. Working with a team of talented content strategists, communications specialists and technical editors and writers, she applies her extensive expertise to help advance Bixal’s mission.

Sandra holds a B.S. in journalism and a certificate in African studies from Northwestern University and an M.A. in communication, culture and technology from Georgetown University. Originally from New Mexico and raised in Hawaii, she joined the Peace Corps as an agricultural extension volunteer in Segou, Mali, which jump-started her decades of work and travel throughout the African and Asia continents — more than 20 countries to date. She served two terms on the board of the National Peace Corps Association and currently serves on the board of the Small Business Association of International Companies (SBAIC). On the weekends, Sandra writes poetry and fiction, often hikes in the Shenandoah and loves gardening and harvesting wild herbs for her personal apothecary tinctures.
