Sofya Savkina

Experience Research Manager

Sofya is an experience research manager working on several projects with Bixal’s federal clients, including the Social Security Administration (SSA) and U.S. Web Design System (USWDS). She helps to improve agencies’ service delivery across channels using the latest HCD best practices and methods.

Before joining Bixal, Sofya worked for a wide range of companies within many industries including healthcare, innovation, hospitality, software development, social impact and big data, leading a variety of clients through building empathy with their customers. Originally from Yekaterinburg, Russia, Sofya majored in international communications at Ural State University and has a master’s degree in Asian and African studies. She also holds an associate degree in visual communications and graphic design from Prince George's Community College. She is a Nielsen Norman Group UX-certified specialist, a member of Interaction Design Foundation and a certified Russian-English interpreter. Outside of work, Sofya explores psychology, mindfulness, hiking, dancing, traveling and parenting. In her spare time, she gives back by doing UX research at her local nonprofit Motherhood Design and enjoys opportunities to speak at local UX and HCD meetups and conferences.
