Susan works on a website redesign and migration projects for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA's) Food Safety and Inspection Service and the U.S. Agency for International Developemtn's (USAID's) Feed the Future Knowledge, Data, Learning and Training (KDLT) activity. She explores how people interact with these organizations and their websites to identify key areas where her team can have a positive impact.
Prior to coming to Bixal, Susan was the lead business analyst and content strategist for an interactive design team serving national associations and higher education clients. Having had experience in journalism, public relations and marketing, Susan understands the importance of holistic thinking in designing the customer experience. She has won awards from the Web Marketing Association, the Data and Marketing Association, and the International Association of Business Communicators. Susan has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Salem College and Wake Forest University, and a master’s degree in international relations from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. In her spare time, Susan enjoys singing with rock cover bands, working in community gardens, and going on hikes with her dog, Seve. She also is involved in animal rescue efforts and loves dancing to ‘80s alternative music.
