Kathryn has 20 years of editing/writing experience, working in the metro DC area for a variety of industries—primarily in the association space. From international children’s development to contract management and then lodging and hospitality, her career has spanned a gamut of roles.
Her core experience is from 12 years as senior editor for Developments magazine with the American Resort Development Association, the DC-based hub for the vacation ownership industry; she also wrote and edited a variety of association-generated content across marketing/communications platforms. Most recently, she supported Marriott International’s Strategic Communications team at the Bethesda, MD, headquarters, during the final integration process of the historic acquisition of Starwood Hotels.
In her spare time, she writes and travels. A former rower on a competitive women’s crew team—both collegiate and master’s level—she loves swimming, running, yoga, barre, and all things in the health/wellness/fitness space.
Academic background: B.A. in English from Washington College (Chestertown, MD) and M.A. in English with an Irish Studies focus from Villanova University (Villanova, PA).
