Vera is the senior software developer and technical team lead working on development and maintenance for Agrilinks and ResilienceLinks, two websites that support key U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) food security initiatives. She provides expertise in the complex migration of the existing Drupal 7 site to Drupal 8, as well as building out new features for the site.
Vera has more than 20 years of IT experience that includes software development using .NET and PHP open-source technologies. She also has extensive experience with Drupal, MySQL, Moodle LMS customization and Moodle custom SQL report creation. Vera has spent her career developing and maintaining web projects for various federal agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institutes for Health (NIH) and the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS). Vera, who has a master’s degree in control systems engineering from the Polytechnic University in her hometown of Kyiv, Ukraine, also has numerous certifications, including ASP.NET 2.0 Programming using C#, VBScript and ASP, and VB 6 for Database Applications and Internet Development. She is the recipient of a 2016 DCFemTech Power Women Programmers & Designers Award. In her spare time, she likes to read, work out, run, spend time with her children, play the guitar, sing and demonstrate her onstage talents with the Russian theater group БХАТ.
