Sophie Fontaine

Outreach and Engagement Specialist

Sophie’s current role at Bixal is for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Knowledge, Data, Learning and Training (KDLT) communications team. Her main tasks involve collecting content for ResilienceLinks.org, its social media sites and its monthly newsletter. She also supports the Center for Resilience webinar series.

Sophie is from New Jersey and attended Yale University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in American studies and political science. Prior to joining Bixal, Sophie worked as a program assistant on a USAID contract supporting the implementation of the new Private Sector Engagement policy across the agency. She was also an events and social media graduate fellow at an international development nonprofit. Sophie’s biggest adventure was spending a summer in Paris, France, without knowing the French language (although she picked some up along the way). For fun, she also runs a gluten-free and low-FODMAP food Instagram, @sophiestinykitchen.
